Abstract

Healing agriculture is emerging for sustainable development of rural communities where population reduction is a severe problem in Korea. Healing agriculture is an activity that promotes the psychological, social, cognitive, and physical health of participants through agricultural and rural resources and agricultural-related activities. The evaluation methods currently being considered in healing agriculture include the Korean-style anxiety disorder screening and the depressive disorder screening tools. Because these two evaluation methods can involve many subjective factors, a simpler and more objective evaluation method, for example, an electronic sensitive evaluation method that can easily evaluate human emotions, is required. Evaluating the healing level of participants in healing agriculture can be determined the success of the program. Methods for evaluating human sense and sensibility have been developed in the field of emotion science. In this paper, we would like to discuss the evaluation methods which are used in emotional science, such as observational, psychological, and physiological evaluations. We hope that such evaluation methods would provide a more accurate assessment of healing.
