Abstract
This study was conducted to reduce genetically modified (GM) rape population in which already GM rape is introduced and spread out, using the cultivation of alternative crops. Number of germinated rapeseeds 14 days after planting (DAP) did not show significant difference between rapeseed planting alone and mixed planting of rapeseed and landscape plants such as rye, green barley, hairy vetch and buckwheat. However, number of rapeseed 28 DAP and 56 DAP were significantly decreased in mixed planting of rapeseed and landscape plants as compared to rapeseed planting alone. It has been shown to be of statistical significance because each P-value investigated in 0.0135 and 0.0362 respectively. Number of germinated rapeseed 28 days after planting showed 93.8 in rapeseed planting alone while mixed planting showed 62.5 in rapeseed+rye, 72.5 in rapeseed+green barley, 81.3 in rapeseed+hairy vetch and 73.3 in rapeseed+buckwheat. Thus, number of rapeseed respectively reduced 33.3, 22.7, 13.3, and 21.9% as compared to rapeseed planting alone. Number of rapeseed 56 days after planting was 108.5 in rapeseed planting alone, 62.5 in rapeseed+rye, 83.5 in rapeseed+green barley, 95.5 in rapeseed+hairy vetch, and 91 in rapeseed+buckwheat. Therefore, number of rapeseed showed 42.4, 23.0, 12.0, and 16.1% reduction respectively. Based on our results, it was showed that number of rapeseed was significantly reduced in mixed planning with Poaceae crops especially, with rye and green barley.
